The National Health IT Collaborative for the Underserved, Inc. (NHIT®), was established in 2008 with a mission to engage underserved populations in the development and use of health information technology (HIT) as a means to support and sustain health equity and economic viability based on NHIT’s five pillars: Workforce, Innovation, Policy, Research, and Community.
We represent national, regional, and local organizations focused on addressing health disparities through the use of new and innovative technologies and peripheral mobile devices.
To optimize the involvement of underserved communities in the development and use of health information technology as a means to support and sustain health equity and economic viability.
To achieve health equity and build thriving communities through catalyzing the development and use of health information technology and the stakeholders impacted by its use.
